  • I read this book by Dale Carnegie "How to influence people and win friends" This video dwells deeper on this subject. 1.The use of the word 'but' 2. A double blind. 3.Visualization- the image you frame on the other person is as powerful as 4.Framing 5.Scarcity

  • 1. When using the word ‘but’: Say the negative part first, then the positive part after the but. (I can’t make it tonight but I would have loved to have gone” 2. Setting a bind for a decision: a.) Look, I know you’re going to be skeptical about this and if you weren’t I would think there was something wrong about you. b.) Were you looking to buy a car with a leather interior or one with a fabric interior? 3. After an interview: When asked if you have any questions after an interview. Answer - “Well yes actually I do. If we were looking back a year from now and I’ve been a star part of this team that would have met and exceeded all of your expectations, what would that look like? What goals should I have met during that time?” (Works for all parts of life. Associate yourself with positive ideas in the other person’s mind) 4. Speak in ‘you’ frames or ‘we’ frames. “I just finished up an article intended for your audience.” or “How are we doing?” 5. Scarcity is powerful. Don’t be afraid to make plans and then be able to tell the person you care about that you’re busy. This will make them value your time and see you as more valuable.

  • Interesting about the swap in number one. I found that we need to finish on a positive. As like a buffer in a computer, the processing order etc... the LAST THING SAID, is the last thing FRESH in the MIND and EFFECTS the FEELINGS and GOALS of what comes next. This is also why kids do what you just told them not to do, exactly as you told them not to, creating an IMAGE of them DOING IT in their minds... AS there is no "NOT" DOING IMAGE. We think in DOING Images. Consider what IMAGE and FEELING are you leaving in people's minds, for that is WHAT THEY REMEMBER when they think of you next time. Oh that person they did bla bla.

  • 1st time watching your videos. Will you cover the different "micro cultures" with in the U.S.? My travels from north to south of the east to west, have taught me a lot of local jargon to ways the American English language is used including slang into almost a full dialect. I've experienced a lot of common values and ethics, yet it's fasinating to see and hear it expressed in many ways. My ice breaker was using the subject of food, to learn about people from that area. Would you know of more?

  • #5, scarcity, seems to be a double edged sword. I am a vendor, a dual schedule based service provider. My schedule might get filled and I’m unavailable. I’ve used the fact to motivate clients to choose to hire me. Unfortunately, if they are unable to hire right away is also motivates them to avoid me, because if I’m available when they become ready to hire and I’ve already prompted them, then they think I’m either unavailable or I was lying/being manipulative. With that said, overall, I like your list. (You taught me proper framing and I just used it)

  • The interview tip only works with unqualified or untrained interviewers. This question falls flat in behavioral-based, competency, Lomimger-focused interviews. As a hiring manager and interviewer, I've lost count of the number of times I've heard that and similar questions and had to hold back my laughter.

  • The visualization usually is done in dating, a person who wants to date you would make you visualize how promising they are as a partner, make you see the white picket fence with them, a suburban yet happy family, they would let you in the know of their "promising" qualities. Be careful with these psychological tricks.
