Sometimes becoming powerful can make people act like jerks. The same thing can happen as you improve your charisma, which is a measure of social power. If you’re not careful you can become a domineering leader that is dislike for how you wield that social clout.
In this video we are covering 3 common myths about being an alpha personality that actually just make people dislike you, and what tweaks you can make to be a respected leader that people love to be around.

0:44 - Myth #1: They direct attention towards themselves.
3:27 - Myth #2: They are intimidating with their bodies.
6:02 - Myth #3: They are stoically unimpressed.

When you’re actually actively interested in what they have to say, automatically people have a better impression of you(in my opinion). Personally, i just love people. Quarantine taught me the value of relationships, so now i value people so much more for who they are(i didnt speak to anyone for 2 months, imagine my loneliness). Now it seems that places i frequently go to are awesome places because i know so many awesome people too!

  • way too many people REALLY don't understand what a true alpha is. but science knows, because they've discovered and unlocked the behaviors of chimps and bonobos--our closest animal relatives. these are the actual features of alpha men and women: 1) they're giving and caring. they're willing to let others go first, and they give ALL THE TIME without expecting anything in return. 2) they tend to help resolve disputes rather than take sides. 3) they work hard and don't make a big deal out of it. 4) they make sure everyone in the group feels safe and noticed, and they do NOT tolerate bullying or ridiculing. 5) they MUST not be afraid to be kind and generous with their emotions. alpha primates are completely responsible for caregiving when someone is sad or in mourning (this is true in all apes). so when you see some loud, macho dude being toxic and insulting and intimidating, remember--this guy is NOT an alpha at ALL. avoid these people. they take without asking, and demand without giving.

    roflmowsroflmows4 mesi fa
  • Behaving like alpha male doesn't work, unless you actually are that alpha male, because other men will call out your BS and prove that you aren't actually that alpha that you think you are, gang up and put you in your place. That's why human society normally doesn't have any alpha males, because no-one is actually that powerful. The best men can do is being a beta male. And what is described here in this is actually behaving like a beta male. What ignorant people call as "beta male" is actually an omega male. Also it's noteworthy to mention, that most species that actually have alpha males, are also endangered species, it's not a very evolutionary fit behavioral strategy.

  • 1) Alphas are not narcissistic. They spread the attention to others, especially the quiet outsiders. 2) Alphas initiate physical contact in a friendly manner, not to intimidate others. 3) Alphas aren't stone cold. They radiate positiveness.

  • Let's call it dominant instead of "alpha". Your videos are always based on how celebrities act. Have you ever had a chance to observe interpersonal dynamics in academics, technology or business? You are good at observing people and you might consider a career in psychology. You could make a good impact on the world. I think if you started to learn about psychology and sociology, you would realize that most of your videos are only your opinion.

  • Another good time to be nonreactive is in a group meeting/brainstorming session. A lot of people think they need to lead the conversation at every moment. Don't. Instead listen to what's being said and only open your mouth when you have your ideas clearly in hand. Then, when you do speak, you automatically project confidence and authority.

I’m super slick I acted surprised at the same time uninterested in watching the videos he thought he would be putting me on to. Point is he’s pretty big not going to lie. He looked into my eyes and I looked into his. Staring into eyes is not that big for me unless someone imposes themself as a threat. Homeboy tried 1 upping me. I looked away first so he must’ve taken that as a stripe. He TRIED bullying me. I’ll let you guess what happened after and ever since then
